The City of McAllen

in 1910

A map was produced, dated January 25, 1910 that showed the original townsite of McAllen and North McAllen. The map legend says it was produced by W. O. Washington of McAllen, Texas.

Along with the general layout and the block and lot numbers, it shows the locations of a few buildings.

The East - West avenues (listed from the North to the South) were named:

The west edge of the town was bounded by the Main Canal of the Hidalgo Irrigation Company.
The streets were numbered from the first one inside the first blocks of lots to the east of that canal.
